Big Brands And Artists Confirm
For London’s Guitarnation 2010
Nation Ltd, organiser of Guitarnation 2010 – which takes place at London’s Olympia on 13-14 November – has confirmed that some of the world’s biggest music brands will be in attendance at the inaugural guitar event.
Among the high-profile brands in evidence will be Marshall Amplification, Paul Reed Smith, Musicman, Ashdown, Bose, Collings, Blade, Heritage, Santa Cruz, DiMarzio, Rotosound and Patrick Eggle. In addition, the cream of the UK guitar and amp-building crop will be represented by the likes of Jaden Rose, Case Guitars, Goulding Guitars, JJ Guitars, Rob Williams and Martyn Booth. The organiser expects the show to attract more than 120 manufacturers, distributors and retailers in total.
Big-name artists confirmed for Guitarnation 2010 include guitar god Steve Vai. Steve will be conducting a unique, interactive masterclass session alongside legendary UK producer Youth, deconstructing a re-recording classic Vai tracks with audience members.
Other stars lined-up for the event include Pink Floyd bassist Guy Pratt, Iron Maiden’s Nicko McBrain, Dominic Miller, Albert Lee and Hogan’s Heroes, Phil Hilborne and Bernie Marsden, the latter performing his tribute to Rory Gallagher ‘Bernie plays Rory’.
The impressive line-up of guitar artists and exhibitors is complemented by the presence of a ‘guitar antiques roadshow’ valuation feature and a privateer section allowing guitar enthusiasts to show and trade guitar-related parts and instruments from their collection.
Recently agreed for Guitarnation 2010 are sponsorship deals with, among others, Allianz Insurance and radio station XFM.
Creative Director John Hill said, “We’re very pleased with the way that Guitarnation is progressing. Exhibitors have jumped at the chance of an affordable, grassroots guitar event in London that rekindles visitors’ excitement for the instrument and allows opportunities to see some fantastic artists, some top-end equipment and learn how to improve their playing and music production skills. Guitarnation is all about celebrating the guitar and its greatest players and we’re finding sponsors attracted to the level of passion and dedication that the UK’s guitar-playing community continues to display.”
